HOPE Ministry
Mission Statement
The mission statement of the Hope Ministry is to serve the poor and needy and to love them with the compassion and heart of Jesus Christ. We do not just want to provide for their physical needs but to meet their spiritual needs – through the Gospel and praying for their freedom from poverty.
“The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
The Hope Ministry provides both local and global support. The following is a list of some of the organizations and groups which we are involved with:
NeighbourLink North York
Neighbourlink creates opportunities for local congregations in North York to work together in local mission by responding to service needs within the North York community. Some of the services we help to provide are accompanying elderly neighbours to the hospital/doctor appointments, buying groceries or picking up supplies from the food bank for those with physical challenges, and providing general handyman work for single mothers or the elderly. A number of TLCF members are involved with this initiative.
North York Harvest Food Bank
The Hope Ministry runs food drives periodically throughout the year to collect food for the local North York Food Bank. We also provide financial support.
Cummer Lodge Home for the Aged
In a combined effort with TLCF’s Children’s Celebration, we make bi-annual visits to the Cummer Lodge. Our visits usually involve a performance by the Children’s Celebration as well as a time to share the love of the Lord with the residents. Our goal is to bring the Father’s heart to them and to show them the Father’s love.
Compassion Canada & Eagles Wings Children’s Village
Through organizations such as Compassion Canada and Eagles Wings Children’s Village, we provide financial and prayer support to impoverished children from various countries. We are currently sponsoring five children from Uganda and Columbia.
In addition to the mentioned organizations, we also provide financial support to the following organizations that are at work both locally and overseas:
- Toronto City Mission
- Adam House
- Covenant House
- Jamesone-27 Ministries
- Empower Ministry- in response to the earthquake in Haiti
