Mission Ministry

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth".  (Acts1:8)

One of the Lord's last words to His disciples was to be His witnesses starting from Jerusalem (their home) right up to the ends of the earth.

Toronto Life-Spring Christian Fellowship has taken these words seriously, hence, the supporting of missionaries has always been part of the church's budget.  It is also our objective to encourage members to respond to God's call to missions.  In addition, a scholarship fund has been set up for the training of such members to equip them for the task.

To date, Life-Spring is supporting eight missionaries and five organizations / ministries.  Out of the eight missionaries, two (Adrian Wi & Jonathan Koh) are "home-grown" from our congregation.

The Lord has been faithful in providing the needed finances.   At this point, about 14% of our budget is designated for missions.  By God's grace and provision, we desire to increase our budget to 15-20%.  For the coming year, the Life-Spring leadership has agreed to designate some funds to support our youths to participate in short-term mission work.   By providing the means and opportunities, we desire to raise our members' commitment to missions which is the mandate of the Body of Christ.

 VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Adrian & Sherene Wi

Adrian, our former Youth Worker, has obediently answered God’s call to minister to the Natives in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is married to Sherene who is expecting their first child in December. Praise God that the Lord has used Adrian to impact the poor, youth and underprivileged in a very special way. Pray for him as he embarks in his call to serve the Natives.

 SOUTH AFRICA

Jonathon & Brenda Koh

Jonathan is recently married to Brenda. Both of them are now involved in setting up a Bible College for the local Africans.; this is timely as there is a need to train local pastors; and leaders to minister more effectively in the churches. As most of the locals could not afford to be trained in their regular Bible Colleges, the cost of the this college has been reduced substanially to make it affordable.
