Faith & Grace

Faith and Grace always go together

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2)

Grace in Christianity can be generally defined as “God’s unmerited favour towards the unworthy” or “God’s benevolence on the undeserving”. One of Merriam Webster dictionary list defined it as “Unmerited divine assistance granted to humans for their regeneration or sanctification”.

1 Peter 5:10 declares  “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ”

Jesus is full of Grace – John 1:14 says “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

God gives Grace. Jesus gives Grace.

We received Grace by Faith.

Sometimes Faith becomes like work when we try to stretch our faith to receive a healing or a miracle or something we desperately need from God. We pray, we confess scriptures, we try this and that. God’s grace or unmerited favour is left out in our efforts. We focus on our faith to receive our “something” that we become frustrated when we don’t see results. When Grace is removed from Faith, we are depending on our own strength and effort rather than the rest in God’s Grace. Oftentimes it is His presence and His Love that we need to focus on. “Be Still and know that I’m God” Ps 46:10

Ephesians 2:8-10 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

God’s Grace is so amazing. My life is a testimony of His Grace. Some of you may recall in my testimony of the many disasters that followed me. Ha Ha. This is God’s sustaining Grace. By His grace, He has led me in many areas of my life – Spiritual life, career, family and home life… for His Name’s sake Ps 23:3.

Approach God today and rest in His amazing Grace

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
