As I was preparing for this Sunday’s message about 2022, I read in my journal that 1 year ago at this exact time, the world went into another lockdown due to Covid-19 Omicron. It seems so long ago, but it was a mere 12 months ago!
Reflecting on 2022 helped me remember that in the midst of all that happened and in the midst of all the changes and swings that occur – our constant anchor in life is Jesus.
Anxiety came and left. Stress came and left. Fear came and left. God came and remained. His faithfulness is truly amazing – in the times where I felt far from Him, He was still there. In the times where I felt near to Him, He was there. In the times where I desperately needed Him, He was there.
2022 may have been a wonderful year for you, it may have been a difficult year – yet God’s goodness and faithfulness has and will always be the constant anchor in life.
We have asked the Lifespring family to fast for the month of January. Fasting is a spiritual discipline and spiritual warfare – it is not easy. In fact Jesus was tempted by Satan at His time of fasting. As a church family, we reflect on His past faithfulness – but let us be excited and ready for His future goodness.
2023 is just around the corner… Ready… Set… FAST!
