Dear LifeSpring Family,
I was listening to Timothy Keller’s podcast where he was teaching about the four truths about Jesus in John 11. This is the chapter that retells the story of Jesus raising His friend, Lazarus from the dead.
- The Lord Jesus Christ is my resurrection and life.
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
As followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are encouraged that the here and now is not all that is to life. How we live now has an effect on how we will live after the “here and now”. If you are going through tough times , be encouraged and stay close to our Lord Jesus Christ. - The Lord Jesus Christ feels and knows what I am going through.
34 And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus wept. 36 So the
Jews said, “See how he loved him!”
As followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, be assured that He weeps with you in your difficult times. - The Lord Jesus Christ is angry towards injustice.
38 Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said,
“Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor,
for he has been dead four days.”
In the original script it said that “Then Jesus, deeply moved (with anger) again, came to the tomb.”
I wonder besides seeing the reality of His dear friend, Lazarus dead, Jesus was probably more angry at the fact that death was not His Father’s original plan for us. - The Lord Jesus Christ knew that He had to die for me to live.
53 So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.
Our Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to die and redeem me from the penalty of sin and death. You are highly favoured, deeply loved and richly blessed because of the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ to His Father.
Shalom and grace upon grace.
Jerry
