Patient Endurance – Luke Chapter One

Patient Endurance – Luke Chapter One

Dear LifeSpring Family,

The books of Luke and Acts are unique in that they are only books in the New Testament written by a Gentile, one of us.

Assuming that the Apostle Paul did not write the book of Hebrews, as it is not conclusive on who wrote Hebrews, Luke wrote more of the New Testament than any other human writer did.

Zechariah, Elizabeth and Mary showed us patient endurance in their journey of unbelievable miraculous experiences with God and the angel Gabriel. As we observe them in Luke chapter one, four words come to my mind:

  1. Impossible (angel Gabriel) in verse 37
  2. Behold (Elizabeth) in verse 44
  3. Magnify (Mary) in 46
  4. Sunrise (Zechariah) in verse 78

As we all go through challenging seasons and some of us are in the midst of a challenging season of life, may we never lose the ability to:

  • Believe that nothing and no situation is impossible with God
  • Allow the Holy Spirit in us to behold the beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ
  • Always magnify the Lord in worship and to know that victory has already been won at the cross by the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace upon grace,
Jerry & Dorothy
