The Mystery Of The Will Of God

The Mystery Of The Will Of God

I had the privilege of attending a short training from Church Renewal titled “How Do We Know God’s Will?” It was a great training with lots of helpful, practical advice and a bonus Q&A at the end.

One of the points that really stood out to me was about the mystery of God’s Will.  The Bible says

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!”

Romans 11:33

God gives us bits and pieces of His will when He gives us direction/guidance, but when He does, we don’t usually get the  “why” of what He tells us to do (in my experience at least).

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like doing things without knowing why I should do them. However, that’s pretty much what faith is.

Hebrews 11:1 says

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Do we have faith and trust in God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will (Romans 12:2) to do the things He guides us to do even when we don’t understand why? Can we accept the mystery of God in His plan for us?

May we learn to trust God and His good, pleasing and perfect will for us as we journey together with Him.
