Recently, I have been memorising and meditating on Zephaniah 3:17:
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Zephaniah is a prophetic book in the Old Testament, composed during the reign of King Josiah of Judah. The prophet Zephaniah’s primary message is of judgement against sin and a promise of restoration for the faithful remnant of Israel. His prophecies emphasize the coming Day of the Lord, where God will judge nations and purify His people.
But in chapter 3 verse 17, it assures us of the restoration in the New Covenant established through our Lord Jeus Christ, where believers are assured of God’s presence and love. Zephaniah 3:17 serves as a poignant reminder of God’s character – His might to save, His joyous love, and His intimate presence with us. If our Lord Jesus Christ is your “Vine” and we as “branches” attach ourselves to Him, we will bear much fruit and therefore be fruitful for His Kingdom and glory.
He is singing/exulting over you with loud singing!!!
