Have you ever had one of those days where things unexpectedly work out really well?
For me, it wasn’t exactly one day, but the days leading up to the first day of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). This year, our study would be fully in-person at a church, and while I prefer in-person to online gatherings, I didn’t have a ride and busing down would be a hassle. To top it off, I had forgotten about BSF starting in September, so I hadn’t looked into online class options (I was defaulted to in-person class) and was also avoiding my soon-to-be class leader’s calls. Yay.
Finally, I decided to just give her a call and back out of her class for the reasons above. To my surprise, she told me that our class administrator lived close to me and might be able to give me a ride. It would be early, but I could probably help out in some way. I was thrilled.
Fast forward to this Monday, and I’m in the sound booth staring at the fanciest soundboard I have ever seen. It turns out that the class administrator, a really sweet older lady who gave me a ride, needed help running sound and projection for the main session and wanted to see if I could help with that.
For the record, I have NO experience running sound, and she had just gone through training last week, so we were both kind of clueless. Thankfully, someone from the church gave me a crash course on running the soundboard and slides, and we all made it through the first class without any hiccups.
My class administrator later told me that she was not tech savvy, but God always sent someone to help her out with it. I was reminded of Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” I was blown away by how well things came together, because I never thought that not having a ride would be a good thing.
I love to see how God somehow orchestrates everything perfectly to use what we think isn’t good to make things work out for us, and I hope it’s something we all see.
