Medium Days
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. As I reflect on my journey of Making Every Effort to Grow in Maturity, I am reminded that testing is part of the process. I cannot know if I’ve grown, if…
Set Up
Exodus 40 – Setting Up the Tabernacle, as the title states, is on the setting up of the Tabernacle and upon completion the glory of the Lord falling upon it. It gives us a detailed account of how the Lord wanted Moses to set up the Tabernacle and what exact he needed to do. Moses was setting up all the pieces that were required from the Lord for the Tabernacle. He was diligent in his setting up of the Tabernacle,…
Enough IS Enough
Exodus 16 (NLT)Manna and Quail from Heaven16 Then the whole community of Israel set out from Elim and journeyed into the wilderness of Sin,[a] between Elim and Mount Sinai. They arrived there on the fifteenth day of the second month, one month after leaving the land of Egypt.[b] 2 There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron. 3 “If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled…
The Roundabout Route
Exodus 13:17-22 (NLT)Israel’s Wilderness Detour17 When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea.[c] Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army…
God Has A Response
Exodus 4 NLTSigns of the Lord’s Power4 But Moses protested again, “What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say, ‘The Lord never appeared to you’?” 2 Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied. 3 “Throw it down on the ground,” the Lord told him. So Moses threw down the staff, and it turned into a snake! Moses jumped back. 4 Then the Lord told him,…
God’s Business
Genesis 40:8 NLTAnd they replied, “We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.” “Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied. “Go ahead and tell me your dreams.” When I was reading Genesis 40, God highlighted this verse to me. To give you some context, Joseph had been thrown into prison for being wrongfully accused of trying to sleep with Potiphar’s wife. During this time in prison, Joseph was given Pharaoh’s Cup-bearer and Chief…
Who Told You
Many of us have been challenged this year to Make Every Effort to grow in maturity. This challenge comes with many obstacles in becoming mature sons and daughters in Christ. It is the road less traveled but for those brave enough to take on the challenge, the rewards are generational. I’ve realized that this journey has exposed me to many roadblocks and hurdles that either I’ve placed in front of me based on what I see and know or that…
With Blessing, Comes Testing
Genesis 22:1-18 (NLT)Abraham’s Faith Tested 22 Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called. “Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.” 2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.” 3 The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along…
The Best
Genesis 4:4-16(NLT) Cain and Abel4 Now Adam[a] had sexual relations with his wife, Eve, and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to Cain, she said, “With the Lord’s help, I have produced[b] a man!” 2 Later she gave birth to his brother and named him Abel. When they grew up, Abel became a shepherd, while Cain cultivated the ground. 3 When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord. 4…
Where do you find peace?
This week as I was reading the word, I came across a verse in Romans 3:17(NLT) that said “They don’t know where to find peace.” As I sat there asking myself, where do you find peace? I was reminded of something Donna said last Sunday. She talked about Naioth – the dwelling place – a place of refuge, safety and comfort for Samuel and David. I believe that when we search for peace we will find it in the dwelling…
Seasons of Change
As the Pastoral Team finishes reading Pastor Perry Soh’s Book Season’s of Change, I can’t help but reflect on the season of change that is happening around us. This book is not only topical for the season we are in but I believe it will help prepare us for what God has in store for us in 2021. As a Christmas gift from the Church we have blessed its members with a copy of the book, which I encourage everyone…
Our Response
As I was reflecting on the past weekend, God showed me a bigger picture of what was going on in the World and in Lifespring. You see Lifespring has adopted a pattern of behaviour, when the world is in crisis, WE go to God in prayer and ASK HIM how to respond. A prime example of this was when we sowed into Compassion Canada Uganda ($6,000) & Operation Mobilization Greece ($10,000). The world was in crisis and the team responded…
