Dear Church Family,
I have been in more prayer meetings in the last 5 weeks then in the last 12 months. And I am sure some of you have similar experiences.
2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (ESV) has been mentioned a few times in the prayer meetings.
13 When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
What struck me were these smallest and easiest to miss: “when”, “if” and “then” in this much quoted promise.
Back in the day and even today, the weather, nature and environment can sometimes become a disaster for many reasons. It is not a question of “if” but “when” will disaster strike. When disaster strikes, I have a choice. The choice is “if” I turn to God and “then” God will turn towards me.
We are all facing the “when” – COVID-19. Now what do we do with the “if”? The choice we make with the “if” will determine the “then”.
The Lord is saying to me that in the midst of this disaster, if I pursue Him then He will hear, forgive and heal my spirit, soul and body.
Ask the Lord what He is wanting to say to you in His words in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.
Be blessed!
