Kingdom Reasoning And Lordship

Kingdom Reasoning And Lordship

Learning to be in the presence of the Lord and to hear his voice comes at a cost. It means you have to listen and obey. When God asks us to do things that don’t align with our own will or reasoning, we have to consider the kingdom and what it means for God to have lordship over our lives.

Kingdom plans don’t always make sense. Jesus was given authority and power to do amazing things, but he did not set out to heal everyone or solve world hunger; he went to the cross to die. Jesus suffered a horrible death; what some could call a defeat, but through it, God’s people were saved. In the same way, God may call us into what we see as a defeat, but in hindsight is a victory for the kingdom.

We may be hesitant to do what God has called us to do with our time and resources, but ultimately what we have is not our own. When we live long enough as lords over our lives, time, and decisions, it can be very hard to entrust everything to God and let HIM direct our lives. But what would happen if we submitted everything to the Lord? What would it mean for our response to be “yes and amen”?

When God has lordship over our lives, it is easier for us to listen and obey; we don’t have to think* and analyze, we just know that God has said something, and that he works for the good of his people.

*Do not take this out of context. God also gave us common sense.
