Psalm 100:3 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Know that the Lord is God – Know experientially that He is the Lord, He is God. We need to know that He is in control. And trust that He is. Question: What does knowing the Lord is God mean to you?
It is He who made us – God, Yahweh is our Creator. God made us. While we were in our mother’s womb, the LORD made us with loving care (Psalm 139:13-16). He made us with a purpose for our lives and a promise to be with us every step of the way.
Therefore, He loves His created ones. Psalm 8:4-5 – “What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.”
He is the One who gives us life, the very air we breathe. I can rest assured He cares for me.
Question: Do you acknowledge that He is the One who made you? If so, what does that mean in your daily living?
and we are His – Wow, this is amazing to me! I belong to Him! I am not an orphan, I belong to the Almighty God! I know Him as my Abba, Father. I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God!
Question: are you assured that you belong to Him? Do your behaviour/ daily choices show that you are an orphan, or a son/daughter?
we are His people – If we are truly “His people,” then let us live as those who know our God, our Creator. We carry His image. Let us display His character, share His grace, extend His mercy, and offer His forgiveness.
As Gabe has shared, we are to share the Lord’s blessings with those who have needs. This is the image we are to carry as God’s children, HIS people, so that the world will know that we belong to Him. And that He is the true God.
the sheep of His pasture – Pasture denotes food. There is ample supply of food for us! Hallelujah! His sheep are definitely well-fed! I am well-fed. In my Father’s house, there is more than enough supply! God cares for us much better than even the very best shepherd cares for his sheep.
In Matthew 6, He gives an illustration from nature – the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. He assures us that He will provide for us because our lives are more valuable than these. (so, no panic buying, please! LOL!)
My testimony: I would like to share how the Lord provided for me at the point of need in the midst of the Covid-19 situation. When I was preparing to return from Singapore in Feb, I was thinking about the need to self-quarantine. As I was sitting at the airport, wondering where could I go, the Lord spoke. He reminded me of a prayer garden that I’ve forgotten. Upon my arrival, I called the place and praise God, a room was available! I checked in on the same afternoon. As the name implies, this place was filled with prayer throughout the day! During my stay, I was so blessed by His presence. I have never felt so peaceful, restful and safe. I had a wonderful time fellowshipping with my Father in prayer, worship and meditating on His Word. He even gave me the inspiration to compile a special healing seminar – a project that He assigned to me in 2018. God is good! Indeed, He knows who belongs to Him and provides for His own.
Do you have a need? Go to the Lord, your God, Creator and good Shepherd. He can and will supply all your needs.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that you are God. You are in control of all situations in the world, and in my life. Thank you that I belong to You. Thank you for taking care of me and supplying all my needs. Please empower me as I seek to display Your character, kindness and grace to those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
