As a leadership team, we have sought the Lord and felt God put “fruitfulness” on our heart for 2025. We believe that God has been refining, pruning, maturing us for this very reason – fruitfulness.
In 2020, the theme for Lifespring was maturity. The Lord was calling us to develop and grow in our relationship with the Lord and in our character:
God is asking this house, this family, to grow in our character – to focus on our maturity. To be firm and consistent and not blown by the winds and circumstances of life and challenge. Will we look to God in the good and bad? Will we be generous when we have much or when we have little? Will we love when it is convenient and when it is not?
– Purpose 2020 – Maturity
Ever since Jubilee taught us about the stages of sonship, maturity and becoming the huios (mature son) has always been part of who God is calling Lifespring to be. This has been a tremendous focus over the past 5 years in the family of Lifespring.
I believe, the Lord is showing us the next step in our journey:
“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means… 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
– Matthew 13:18, 22-23
For the past 5 years, I have been 100% convinced that our assignment was to become the huios (mature son), to mature in our faith no matter where we are. I believe that this is still the assignment and will always be the assignment – to continue to mature and grow in our faith.
However, the Lord was showing me that though maturity is necessary, it is not the finish line. The real purpose of seed is not to simply grow and mature. The real purpose of seed is not to be the brightest and strongest. The main purpose of a seed is to be fruitful, to multiply – maturity is simply necessary for fruitfulness.
When we look at the seeds that fell among thorns and seeds that fell on good soil – we can see that both seeds grew and matured. HOWEVER, the difference between the two mature seeds is that 1 was fruitless and 1 was fruitful. Both seeds were mature! But only 1 seed was fruitful.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
– John 15:1-2
Will Lifespring be mature seeds amongst thorns or mature seeds that bear much fruit? A hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown? We need to get rid of the thorns that so easily entangle and be fruitful.
2025 is all about fruitfulness – let us journey together as Kingdom Family to learn and discover what Kingdom fruitfulness is all about.
