In our Lifespring journey of discovering what Kingdom Fruitfulness is all about, a conviction that the Lord put on my heart is to know what we are planting.
Fruitfulness: Know what we are planting – a mango tree needs to know it is a mango!
How do we as a church family continue to push forward and advance while also caring for those who are stumbling? In Exodus 14 it is the story of the Israelites being pursued by the Egyptians and facing an impossible challenge – crossing the Red Sea. Yet, in this Scripture we see that the Red Sea parted and ALL of Israel passed safely, while the Egyptians in pursuit were drowned.
As I was reflecting on this Scripture, I felt the Lord show me that ALL of Israel – the grandparents, parents, children, grandchildren were at the Red Sea and ALL of them made it across. I could see that there were some people who ran through as soon as the Red Sea parted, they ran ahead to cross, they ran ahead to see what was on the other side and to make sure it was safe and secure. And I saw children and elderly slowly making their way across the Red Sea. The ground was uneven and the path difficult – so it even required people to slow down and help them cross safely.
I felt the Lord put on my heart – this is what is needed for the Lifespring family. We need people to run ahead and clear the way and make sure it is safe, but we need people to slow down and care for children, the hurting, the elderly.
This year, Toronto Lifespring turns 43 years old. In those 43 years we have experienced so much: Intercession, International House of Prayer (IHOP), Jubilee, Uganda, Healing & Deliverance, Sonship, Father’s Heart, Spiritual Warfare, Mission trips, and the list goes on.
To be fruitful, we need to know what kind of seed we are. I will be asking the deacons to speak in 2025 with the specific assignment to share what has been the most impactful seed in their lives from their time here at Lifespring. As we continue to run towards where God is guiding us, we also slow down and encourage the rest of the family with all the great things God has done.
What seeds has God put in you that have become fruitful? Who you were and what you did 10 years ago is probably much different than who you are and what you do today. Thank the Lord that He has been working in you – whether you realized it or not.
