I was in a church service the other day where the worship team and worshippers were on fire and quite a few people in the congregation shared a testimony.
You’d be correct in thinking that I just described this Sunday’s Service. However, this description also applies to the morning service at Glory of Zion, a Mandarin church I attend. The only real difference between the two services was content and there was no sermon that morning, but let me tell you, I was having some serious déjà vu during our service at LifeSpring. (They also have a John who’s getting married. What are the chances?!)
I was mind blown by this and immediately thought of simultaneous discovery, which is multiple inventions/scientific discoveries of the same thing in a short period of time. For example, Oxygen independently discovered twice in 1774 and sunspots independently discovered 4 times in 4 different countries in 1611. The cause of this is scientists/researchers getting to such a high level in their field that they have to focus on making some progress into the unknown regions/aspects of their field. At that level, there could only be so many possible breakthroughs with the currently available information and technology, hence the multiple discoveries. (Steven Johnson writes about this in his book “Where Good Ideas Come From” if anyone’s interested.)
I thought that since both churches are on the same page and at a good place spiritually, this might mean we’re heading for a breakthrough or something similar in that area. Honestly, I could be wrong, but what I do know is that when we’re all on the same page with God and are doing what He tells us to do, we’ll usually get confirmation from other people hearing/doing the same thing, and that’s pretty cool to see.
