The Divine Hours

Dear Church Family,

I just wanted to share with you two prayers from my time with the Lord today.

These two prayers are taken from the ancient devotional practice chronicled in the book, The Divine Hours by Phyllis Tickle

The Midday Office

The Prayer Appointed for the DayGrant me, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while I am placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Concluding Prayer of the Church
O God, who on the day of Pentecost taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: Grant me by that same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through Jesus Christ your Son my Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

Hear what the Lord wants to say to you and be blessed!
