Weakness

Pain is part of success. It’s part of the process.
God is in the pain just as much as he is in the pleasure.

We often associate God with pleasure – How good we feel – But he’s also in our pain.
Think about a breakthrough. Breakthroughs are mostly during times of great pain, pressure and stretching (literally at the breaking point). This is not when you’re at your greatest but weakest.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) says:

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

When we are at our weakest point and come to God, His power is made perfect in us. We experience God’s power in its fullness when we are utterly dependent on Him.

Let me put it mildly:
Drinking water daily is something most of us do. We pair it with foods of all kinds. It is rather normal to have a glass or two throughout the day without thinking much of the effects it has on our body and daily living. But when you exert yourself and you are dehydrated to the point where your mouth is completely dry, water is felt in a completely different way. It tastes different, it quenches your thirst, you probably end up drinking more in one sitting than you do in the day because of how desperate you are for hydration and you feel more refreshed and hydrated than your previous state.

God’s power, like water, is the same whether we’re strong or weak. It doesn’t change, we just feel it differently depending on our state of being. I’m not saying to go and be weak. I’m saying in your weakness, draw on the healing power and strength of our God. It is not a matter of if you get weak, it’s a matter of when you get weak because we are all human and live in a broken world that may sometimes leave us hurt on our journey of life.

Father, I thank you that your word quenches our thirsty hearts. Let us not take your love and presence for granted. Help us to run to you daily, when we are strong and when we are weak. Help us to experience the fullness of your grace and power everyday. We love you and need you. In Jesus name, we pray Amen!
